Microneedling With a Facial Aesthetic Specialist

SkinPen is a wireless, hand-held device that uses disposable microneedles to create precise micro-injuries below the surface of the skin. The needle pricks prompt the skin to generate new dermal tissue and blood vessels, ultimately creating tighter skin in the treatment area.

We typically combine enhanced skin treatments with microneedling to help you achieve more comprehensive facial rejuvenation. These options include chemical peels and laser skin resurfacing. What To Expect

A topical numbing cream is first applied to the skin and left in place for about 30 minutes. Next, the skin is cleansed and dried. Your aesthetician will then move the SkinPen slowly over the treatment areas. Most patients experience little to no discomfort, saying the sensation feels like mild vibrations. A microneedling treatment takes 30 to 45 minutes to perform on the face. Your appointment will be longer if multiple areas are treated or if the procedure is combined with other treatments.

Many men and women see improvements after only 1 or 2 sessions. However, you may require a series of appointments to reach your aesthetic goals. For deeper scars, we can add injectable fillers after a few microneedling treatments to provide optimal results.

The SkinPen microneedling treatment typically causes mild swelling and pinkness in the first 2 to 3 days following the procedure. It feels similar to a mild sunburn, and any discomfort can be managed without pain medication. Most of the pinkness resolves within a few days, resulting in minimal downtime.
